I’ve wanted to write a beauty post for a while now so I thought I’d finally do it. This post is about my favourite skincare products. I will do a post about my favourite makeup products another time. (There are too many 🙈)
I’m going to start with bath & shower products that I swear by.
1. Soap & Glory ‘Clean On Me’ shower creme
Firstly, it smells amazing! In fact, all Soap & Glory products smell beautiful. It’s light and refreshing and for some reason I feel a little bit better whenever I smell it.
Secondly, it’s in a pump bottle! Not many people would care whether it’s a squeezy bottle or a pump bottle, but it makes such a difference when you live in pain! My hands don’t always work properly, especially when they are wet, so squeezy bottles can be a nightmare. This makes washing much easier and less painful.
Thirdly, a tiny bit goes a long way. It lathers up so much and makes skin lovely and soft. I love it when a product lasts ages.
2. Lush ‘Rub Rub Rub’ Shower Scrub
I love many Lush products but this has to be at the top of my list of shower faves. It is something I use once or twice a week to exfoliate. I tend to leave the lid loosened so I don’t have to mess about trying to open it each time. It’s really refreshing and the salt isn’t too rough on skin. I find that it’s quite a light exfoliator so if you wanted it to be a bit more tough, you could rub it into a shower puff for a bit more oomph. Try not to use too much at once as you may lose lots of it down the plug hole. You don’t need much to get a good effect from it anyway.
3. The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter
The ultimate body moisturiser! This is very creamy and rich and smells divine. I suffer with bad dry skin under my arms and on my legs and this product has made a huge difference. I apply it all over my body most mornings and I smell soooo good all day. My skin feels incredibly soft all the time now and it’s because of this product! Game changer!
Onto face products.
1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
This product was recommended to me almost 2 years ago and I’ve not looked back since! It’s so light and refreshing yet does so much! My skin has never been clearer and I feel like I barely do anything to it to make it that way. Good work Garnier!
2. Nivea Eye Make Up Remover
3. Clarins Skincare Booster – Energy
When my skin is feeling dull and grey, I use this little ray of sunshine. It gives me the radiance and glow my skin desperately needs on the days when I look and feel like a corpse! Just add a few drops to your moisturiser and you will instantly look alive. I don’t use it everyday, my dog doesn’t care how I look (yay for dogs!) so I only use it occasionally, when the situation is dire.
I have so many more Skincare products that I love but I think this list is a good start. I’d love to know other people’s bath and body favourites, especially if they make your life with disability easier in some way.
